Aims
of this Course
Mental illness
is one of the biggest problems in the world. The statistics is that one
quarter of the world’s population would have some form of mental illness
during their life time. This advanced course is intended to enable students to
understand the nature of mental illness and how it can be prevented and
managed, while in practice or in an advisory capacity.
Target
Audience
This is an advanced programme that train participants to achieve
skills at management level. The course is suitable for people who are already
working in or intending to work in the mental healthcare sector or related
professions, such as hospitals, health centres, social care, charities and
other government organisations. Thus, the course is suitable for people already working or
intending to work as mental health workers, social care workers, doctors, nurses,
social workers, resettlement workers, housing officers, homeless workers and
those in the refugee management professions.

The course
carries 105 academic credits. The course is taught and assessed at levels
4/5 of the UK qualifications scale (i.e. 1st & 2nd
year level of a UK degree course)

Applicants
should have:-

Passes at GCSE at A/Level or equivalent
standard; or

Completed a recognised certificate or
diploma course in any field; or

Worked at supervisory level in a related
field for 3 years or more; or

Have not met the requirements above, but are
at least 21 years of age; and
·
Should meet the English Language
requirements below
