About this course

This Practice Diploma will be awarded to students who successfully complete both of the subjects (modules). The course deals with the legal and practical details of community care in the UK.

The course is assessed at National Diploma level.

Student Profile

This course is suitable for people already working or intending to work in community and social care, housing organisations, or work as community care workers, homelessness officers, housing officers, social welfare officers, resettlement officers, child carers, those working with the elderly and people with disabilities, officers in public or private homes, or officers in other related areas. Students who successfully complete this course will be entitled to use the letters DipCC after their name.

Taught: £199 per module (£398 in total) or £358 if both modules are paid for together at the time of enrolment (a saving of £40)

Distance Learning: £179 per module (£358 in total) or £318 if all modules are paid for together at the time of enrolment (a saving of £40)

Entry Requirements: None - but students should be able to cope with advanced studies.
Mode of Study:

Taught: run over 2 modules, each run over 3 Saturdays. Classes are from 10am - 5.30pm

Distance Learning: (home study)

Start Date:

Taught: As this is a modular course, students can begin when a new module starts. Next dates are: Module 1 (4th November 2006), Module 2 (6th January 2007)

Distance Learning: Start at any time

Duration:

Taught: 9 weeks in total (note, students missing a class or module can attend again in the next session as this course is held on a roling basis)

Distance Learning: Guideline is 4 - 6 months, but this is flexible and students can study at their own pace
